Terms of Service

Effective date: 21 July 2026

These terms govern your use of AjoHub. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

1. What AjoHub is — and is not

AjoHub is a record-keeping and coordination platform for rotational savings groups (ajo/esusu/stokvel) and cooperative societies. It lets groups track contributions, schedule and record payouts, verify members, and keep a shared, tamper-evident history of their activity.

AjoHub is not a bank, a wallet, an escrow service, or a licensed financial institution. We never hold, transmit, or control member funds. Money moves directly between members and their group admin — by bank transfer, cash, or a third-party payment provider (e.g. Paystack). When we display amounts, balances, or payout schedules, we are displaying records, not custodied funds.

2. Your group is your responsibility

Savings groups are built on trust between their members. AjoHub gives you tools to establish and verify that trust — identity verification, guarantors, the Ajo Score, contribution records, an audit trail — but:

The in-app dispute system exists to record disagreements and get platform administrators' eyes on them. It is a good-faith mediation tool, not a court, an insurer, or a guarantee of recovery.

3. Your account

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use AjoHub to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts involved in any of the above, and we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.

5. Guarantors

Standing as a guarantor is a real commitment made to your fellow members: you are vouching for someone and agreeing to be notified — and looked to — if they fall behind. Within cooperative lending, a guarantor accepts an actual financial liability up to the amount they agreed to guarantee. Do not accept guarantor requests casually.

6. Fees

Group service charges are set by each group's admin, shown to you before you join, and deducted at payout time exactly as displayed. Any platform-level fees will be clearly disclosed before they apply to you. During beta, AjoHub itself is free for group admins.

7. Payments through third parties

If you pay through a payment provider (e.g. Paystack), that transaction is between you and the provider, on the provider's own terms. We record its outcome. Card details never touch AjoHub's servers.

8. Content and records

You retain ownership of content you upload (e.g. receipt images). You grant AjoHub the licence needed to store and display it to your group as part of the service. Financial records — contributions, payouts, memberships, audit entries — are retained even after you leave a group, because the other members have a legitimate interest in a complete record of the group's money. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep AjoHub available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is", without warranty of uninterrupted availability. We may add, change, or remove features. Material changes to these terms will be posted here with an updated effective date; continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AjoHub's liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid AjoHub (not your group) in platform fees in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for losses caused by other members' defaults, your group admin's actions, or third-party payment providers.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally are subject to the jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
